Dirt Rally 2 BMW E30 M3 Rothmans Motul Bernard Béguin

hotpic

This is the 1987 Tour de Corse Rally winning livery for the BMW E30 M3, driven by Bernard Béguin and Jean-Jacques Lenne.

In 1987 Prodrive secured a deal with BMW France and Rothmans to run the French pairing of Bernard Béguin and Jean-Jacques Lenne in the 1987 French Rally Championship. The deal would also include the WRC round 5 event 'Tour de Corse' which was then part of the French Rally Championship also. The end of the rally brought a popular victory for this French pairing and the very small British Prodrive team. This was the first time a privateer team had won a WRC event since 1981 when Prodrive founder Dave Richards sat in the co drivers seat next to Ari Vatanen, this time Richards was team owner and Prodrive had scored it's first of many WRC victories. Not forgetting that this nimble little car from Munich was solely designed to win the World Touring Car Championship (Which it did later that year). Since then no normally aspirated, front engine, RWD car has ever won a round of the World Rally Championship.
